Help Samsung gear 2

I bought a second hand gear 2 for my s5..I downloaded the gear manager and my phone connected via bluetooth..only some of the setting within the app will open, but if I go to open settings and some others it closes immediately...If I connect it to the previous owners phone it will work on everything..can anybody help..tks
 
Just to be absolutely clear, the procedure you used to pair the watch with your phone was (if previously paired) was to open android wear on the phone, tap on the gear icon (settings) and it shows your watch connected at the top. You click on that and then scroll down and select "forget watch". Then on the watch you select settings>factory reset (not restart). While the watch is performing a factory reset, you reboot the phone.

When the reset is complete you should be prompted to pair to a phone at which point you open Android wear app on the phone and begin the pairing process.

Yes it does sound right but I've done all that..I rang Samsung and they said to bring it to one their shops...I think I'm gonna have to do that....
 
Yeah, I'm wondering if there's an app from Samsung that you need for full features. That's really the only thing left.
 
I had to download the one from galaxy app store I think it's the only one that's supposed to work. ...don't think there's one on Google play store to pair up with up with s5
 
Gear Manager does look like it's only available from Samsung. You might try clearing the Gear manager data and cache, uninstalling the app then rebooting the phone and reinstalling it. That should give you a pretty clean installation.
