Help Samsung I5700 Galaxy Spica has Divx!

Samsung I5700 Galaxy Spica is available, brings DivX to Android - GSMArena.com news

The DivX support is a great addition to the Android video player, which we found lacking so far and it's big plus for everyone who doesn't have the time (or skills) to transcode videos.

This is not big, this is HUGE. The first Android to support DivX!

Now, given that Spica shares a lot with our toy, can we "borrow"
its player like we can borrow stuff from Behold?

There is no difference- both DivX and xvid are just two different sets of players and encoders for the same type of video.

Video encoded with DivX will (with maybe a few exceptions on the fringe) work on an xvid-based player, and vice-versa.

Definately good news- but I expect this means the newer phone contains hardware playback support for DivX... you can't just port that over to the galaxy icon, unfortunately.
