Help Samsung Infuse - Youtube bug or employer blocking?

Lurker
About 4-5 days ago Youtube videos began crashing when attempting to open, saying "sorry this video cannot be played." Previously there had been no problem whatsoever on my Samsung Infuse. This happens when going to the m.youtube.com site and clicking on any video. Interestingly, when opting for Desktop mode at the bottom of the Youtube page, the video plays normally, only I have to adjust the screen somewhat to resize it. The bug also happens when opening on Dolphin or Maxthon browsers. Also, the Youtube app available from Play Store also began misbehaving strangely - the videos almost never open - maybe 1 out of 20 attempts. Other video sites like Metacafe work normally. Also, when playing an embedded Youtube video on another site they play normally...but when I click on the Youtube link, which goes to the Youtube mobile website, the video crashes upon trying to open.
About 400 or more employees of my company were issued Samsung Infuses last year, and in checking with a co-worker about my problem, his crashes in the same way. Is Youtube the problem, is my Samsung Infuse the problem, or is my company blocking the use of Youtube with some kind of planted bug? Our Infuses have Froyo 2.2 as the OS. Any ideas on this?

Welcome to Android Forums, Zanjero!
I have moved this thread to the Samsung Infuse forum so that others with the Infuse can help you figure out if this is an Infuse issue, or not.
Thanks,

I experienced a similar issue on my very first Infuse. It seemed pretty random and I couldn't trace it to any definitive cause. I think having factory reset the phone managed to help, but it was just one of those freaky problems that appear out of nowhere and annoy the hell out of you and then just randomly resolve itself. Considering it happened to my handset, I don't think it's your employer blocking YouTube.

I also remember that when I had that issue, other videos that I had loaded to my phone wouldn't play. It didn't matter what file type they were, it'd say the same thing as YouTube and say it couldn't play the video.

Same problem. Can't watch any videos on mobile youtube or the ones that came on the sd card. As a matter of fact I can't even record videos as the camera app displays a "camera failed" popup. Yohannie's right, it's very annoying.
