Hi,
I have an Intercept and an Optimus.
Physically and for functionality I like the Intercept better.
But performance wise, the Optimus seems a bit faster / smoother.
If you like the buttons on the Intercept, beware (LOL), the buttons on the Optimus (IMHO) are awful. But most will disagree, and I can't figure out why <scratches head>
In the dark, most everyone agrees you don't use the button lighting on an Optimus as it's almost non existent. Instead, in dim lighting situations, you go by "feel" only. Also, the Optimus buttons have no way to turn the button lighting back on after it times out (very quickly) without actually Pressing one of them. Awkward to say the least IMO. But it doesn't really matter that much because the button lighting is so microscopic and so tiny, you really cant even see the buttons in total darkness when they ARE lit
Oh, the Optimus has no physical keyboard so if you've become accustomed to having a keyboard the Optimus may not be for you. Personally, I find I MUCH prefer the physical keyboard if I have more than a word or two to enter or if it's mixed case or complicated typing such as with symbols or other characters.
But, again, many see that as a minor thing and you may as well.
I had some issues with mine similar to yours but I reset the phone to factory and started over and it seemed to clear it up.
$300 for a phone that's just hit the market is not my cup of tea. Also, if you change plans you'll be forced into VM's new higher rates that changed last night. I would think that simply changing phones would not cause your plan rate to change.
I'm so sad the $25 / mo deal is gone

The New rate on the $25 plan (now $35) means that for about what you were getting the 1200 minute plan for last month is now reduced to 300 minutes. Bummer.
Good luck.
