Samsung has started production of its new 10-nanometer SoC using FinFET technology and advanced 3D transistor structures. While other chip manufacturers will be stamping out 10-nm chips in the coming months, Samsung appears to be the first to do so. The new 10nm chip has a 30 percent increase in area efficiency, 27 percent higher performance or 40 percent lower power use when compared to Samsung's current 14nm chips.
