Root Samsung Kies ?

I found this app. I installed and tried to use with my Mesmerize, unfortunately it seems it does not connect.

And one know if i root my phone if that would help? or is Kies only for other countries. One message I had while checking it out was that Samsung Apps was not available in this country.

Any tips would be helpful if anyone is using. I really would like a all around sync tool like Kies ,,,

I've tried to use this app too, my brother mentioned that he was able to upgrade his captivate to froyo with it, so I figured hey lets try.

I had the older kies that I tried to use with a delve that I owned before the mez. well long story short... it doesn't work. It didn't with the delve and it doesn't with the Mez rooted or otherwise.

This is probably what frustrates me the most with USCell.

Kies is not necessary for the Mez. It will do anything you need OTA. Kies is the platform used by some other Galaxy S devices to receive software updates and sync Outlook, etc.

I've never used it once on my phone, don't see the need for it.

I wanted Kies to backup my Mes. Is there a good program for this?

Titanium Backup. If you aren't rooted, you can just mount the SD card to your PC and make a copy of the files to your PC.

I want a backup that backs up stuff like all my passwords on my password keeper. Is that possible?

Yes. I use KeePassDroid and Dropbox. I have KeePass on my PC, and keep the database in my dropbox private folder. KeePassDroid looks at that file when it opens. Never have to worry about keeping it synced after that.
