Help Samsung Kies

Lurker
I have 2 SGS one for me and the other for my wife. I just updated my SGS(with bell in Canada) to 2.3 Gingerbread this morning and I had no issue at all. I also was going to update my wife's on the same computer with the same setting but I could not make it work. I was able to connect on to Kies and did all the back-up as I needed.

The problem was my Firmware Version Information. If you connect your SGS to Kies you can normally see current firmware version but mine is Empty and no pop-ups asking me to update it. I can see Firmware Info section but current firmware version part is empty. I don't see any informaton on it.

I have deleted and re-installed Kies and updated USB driver seperate, I have tried so many things but I don't know what is going on.

Currently on my SGS, I have Froyo with 2.6.32.9 with build number FROYO.UGKC1.

Have anyone had the same issue? If so, what was your solution? How did you deal with it? I don't wanna do factory reset until I find out that is the only option.
Please help me.

Same here. Stock Froyo, only because I rooted, flashed CM7, and back to i896 ROM from Rogers.

Kies does not recognized the firmware, BUT, it does recognize the device.

Any solutions?

I agree, I am so frustrated with Kies, USB connection & Galaxy S... all I wanted was a phone that syncs with my outlook calendar, I was assured this one did and it does ...every so often but is taking literally hours out of my time just to get the info from the phone to outlook on the PC. If anyone has the answers PLEASE post them
