Lurker
Hello guys,
I recently rooted my phone and performed a titanium back up. I was enjoying the features of a rooted phone until today.
I opened ROM Manager and downloaded the latest version of cyganmod. Afer that, the phone booted into recover mode and it says Downloading but it has been "downloading" for the last hour or so. I tried the power, volume down, and home key and it warned me that installing a custom OS could be risky etc, it prompted me with volume up to reset and restart the phone or volume down to proceed with installation, even when I select to reboot the phone it simply flashes the android guy repeatedly.
If I have my backup on my SD card how do I go about restoring it?
Input is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

ROM Manager is not a Recovery. You either flashed CyanogenMod or TWRP.

Not having used ROM Manager, I do not understand why it booted into Recovery to download something. The phone can't download anything while in Recovery unless it's connected to a PC via USB and mounted as storage. Make sure the version of CyanogenMod Recovery that you want to use is designed for YOUR phone: it is very device-specific.

I can tell you what I'd do: I'd pull the battery, wait 10 seconds, put it back in and boot up. It will boot normally or it won't. If it doesn't, pull the battery again, reinsert it and try to access Recovery with Volume Up, Home and Power buttons depressed all at once. Let go when you feel the phone vibrate. Then select Reboot system. Hopefully that will get you booted up.

If you STILL can't access Recovery or boot normally, you may have to use ADB to push Recovery to your phone. Someone else can help you with that, as I have to go run some real life errands. Good luck!
