Help Samsung Note 4 USB malfunction

I rarely ever use the USB port on my Note 4 for anything, but I decided I wanted to back everything up on my phone so I could format it, because it gets ridiculously hot and the battery has only been lasting 4 hours max and dropping 1% a minute if not less just sitting in my pocket. So I plugged it into my work desktop... nothing, Laptop... nothing, Home PC, and again, nothing. I have used 3 different cables, cleaned out the port with piece of paper, and enabled USB debugging.. nothing as well. I normally get nothing at all from a PC when I plug it in. The phone charges fine but on some computers, this is what I get. (See attached)

Can I get some real support please?

Hi Quinn,

Sure you can get some real support. I charge 100 Euro/hour, feel free to get your cheque book out. Alternatively you could try not to be an ass to the people who post on this forum for free.

Now, complete lack of respect aside: Are you telling us that you have already installed the device drivers for your Note on the computer where you took this screenshot? You certainly didn't explicitly say so, therefore the suggestion to do so seems valid. If you have installed the drivers please tell us know which version you installed, some information about the exact model of note you have, the installed Android version and your carrier. Then we may be able to get further.

Regards,
Eric.

What OS on your 'puters? I just plugged my Note 4 into my Win7 laptop and it shows up in My Computer as RAS2058 which is my phone's name. Don't mind the Walkman icon, guess Win7 isn't that smart...

I would guess that the Walkman icon is down to the fact that Android (later versions) connects as an MTP device (the filesystem is emulated in this case). You can go into the USB settings while the phone is connected and change to "camera mode" (or something like that) and then you will have more direct access to the file system. In this case you may see more traditional icons.

Eric.
