Samsung Releases Source Code for Galaxy S

Well, first of all, it was already pulled.

Second, I don't think it does necessarily mean froyo is imminent. The carriers each still need to "customize" and approve their versions before it gets released.

There is a pretty consistent trend of when the sources for an upcoming update get released (i.e. UVJI6), the actual update follows soon after. I'm not saying, or even anticipating that Froyo will be here that soon, but it's a good sign that they're getting somewhere and working on it.

I'm with you on this. T-Mobile's customizations are miniscule compared to what Samsung had to do for Froyo, so I'd presume it will begin to go OTA within a month roughly. Even with the recent source code pull, it will be resolved soon.

On that site:

The T959 Source code is 129MB

The i9000 source code is 155MB

Pity Samsung's site isn't the fastest....
