Samsung S2 picture transfer problems and WiFi problem

I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 LTE. I just recently got a micro SD to put my many pics on so I can transfer to my PC. Kies Air has never helped (my PC is 7 years old, so...). I think I have managed to transfer my pics to the micro SD - the little icon on the corner of the picture is now a sd card. So, I popped the back the back off my phone, took out my micro SD after 'unmounting' it, put it in the adapter and put it in my PC slot. Nothing. I connected the phone to the computer with USB but my computer is not recognising it at all (I think it ever has, actually). My phone is charging thru the USB, though. Oh, one other thing - In this process, the other little card in the back (memory card, I think - phone came with it) slipped out a bit, and I slid it back in place. Now my phone will not connect to my WiFi!! If anyone can speak simple english to me so I can follow instructions, I would greatly appreciate some help! My tech-speak comprehension is very limited. ;)

Are you sure you have put your pics in the 'external sd' folder and not the regular sd folder? This is really confusing that they call the internal memory 'sd card'.

Oh dear, I am not sure. When I got the micro sd I was told at the phone store to download the 'send to sd card' app, which I did. I used it to send my pics to the sd card. It doesn't actually specify if it is the external sd.
