Help Samsung S3 - Orange Indicator Light

pritygirl

Lurker
Hello,

My phone got some water in it but I was able to dry it out fairly quickly. I put the battery back in and the phone turns on perfectly fine, the apps all work, things we downloading, and my camera turned on without a problem, etc. So I assumed that everything was ok with my phone. Then when I powered the phone off, it powered off and an orange indicator light went on. The phone was powered off but the light was still on. What does this mean?

Hello and welcome pritygirl!
Well, I would recommend that when you see my reply, you power down the phone, remove the battery/sim card/sd card and put the device in a bag of uncooked rice. Completely cover it with the rice. Leave it in the rice for several days. That will help draw out any moisture that is left.
Water in the device is not good. Water in a device that is then powered on is worse.:(
I would suggest the rice thing and hope for the best but just be prepared later on for issues due to corrosion that may occur.
You may get very lucky and not have issues but hope for the best:)

Thanks for getting back to me. That's exactly what I did. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping that it drys out. Otherwise, I will search around for a refurbished phone. Do you have any suggestions on where I should look for a used Samsung S3 phone?

Well, you can check out our Classified section here first if you desire:

Otherwise, I suppose your carriers store perhaps?
I personally am leery of online sites such as Ebay or CraigsList ....but that's just me.

I am sure others would know where to look for a good refurb device and chime in here:)
