Help Samsung S3 Weird Charging Issue

Hi All,

I got this very weird looking problem with my 2-years old Samsung Galaxy S3 phone. Whenever I tried to charge the phone, the "charging" sign appears but in actual reality, the phone never gets charged. I have to then pull out the charging pin out of the mobile and then insert the pin again (2 or 3 times) before it can start charging.

I already have changed my charging cable and the charging adapter (both from Samsung originals) but the results are not in my favor. I already have hard-reset my phone and it doesn't help me either.

Any suggestions guys? Looking to hear back from ANDROID GURUS out there :)

Cheers,

Yousuf

Maybe the receptacle is dirty?
Get some CRC Electronic Cleaner, or just Isopropal Alcohol, and lightly dampen the plug then work it into the jack in/out several times. Most likely there is some oxidation on the contacts. blow it dry with a hair dryer, should be "all better now"

Thanks! Will give this a try and will let you know soon

You might also consider looking into the charging jack of the device to see if the contacts are bent in any way. This typically happens over time when mobile users unplug their devices incorrectly. Many don't even realize what happens unless it's too late.

A good indicator of something in the charging jack being not right, out of place, or straight out damaged is if the charging cable wiggles inside of the phone's charge jack. A charge cable should be snug and fit in a way that it doesn't move inside at all.

Reversely, the same can be said if it's too tight that you struggle to plug/unplug the charge jack from the jack port. It should plug/unplug with minimum effort while maintaining a snug enough fit that it doesn't move inside.
