Turns on, then turns off almost immediately? Leave it off. Plug in the charger. (Make sure it's charging - you should see the battery on the screen.) Leave it alone for at least 16 hours. Then try turning it on. If the battery is almost completely dead, the charger can't supply enough power to run the phone, so it gives the battery a drop of power, turns on, kills the battery and turns off.
If that doesn't fix it, you have more of a problem than anyone can guess at here, and the best bet would be to bring it into the store. (It could be something as simple as a bad battery that just won't hold a charge.)
