purchased this phone recieved installed battery and pressed power button to boot Samsung s4 splash screen appered but background was very white instead of the normal black tried to do hard reset but recovery screen never opens after spash screen it goes black then shows at&t screen with distorted colors as well if left will boot to os but screen is still black. I believe the previous owner tried to flash firmware unsucessfully any thoughts? thanks in advance Robert

If a firmware flash is unsuccessful the most likely outcome is that it doesn't boot at all.
However, unless you were told that the phone was not functioning properly then my first instinct is to get your money back.
