Samsung S7 Heating Issue

Lurker
I've just got my S7 edge yesterday....
It becomes warm after a bit of usage.
The temp on cooler master show about 32-34.... the highest I've gone is 36.... it feels warm to the touch.
I'm thinking of getting it replaced or fixed through the warranty.... should I go ahead with it or is it just normal with this phone....
P.S its the SM-G935FD the dual sim.... exynos chipset

34 degrees is absolutely normal for the cpu of a smartphone. If anything it's on the cool side. Nothing at all to panic about. Battery temperature is the most important one anyway, as the battery is more sensitive than the chips. But all phones will get warm under usage to some extent. I see no reason for concern in what you describe.

I really doubt the usefulness of that "cooler master" app though. I've read the description and it sounds like yet another task killer, just using a different rationale this time (temperature rather than ram, or battery), and it's well established that Android works better without those things (see a long discussion here and in posts linked from it: http://androidforums.com/threads/pu...k-killers-ram-optimizers-and-the-like.896663/).

Hey, I agree with Hadron but from my point of view see what's running in the background and if possible use the device Its lowest light settings and try not to use the device while it's charging for these task can raise the temperature of the phone. In some cases where there's poor cell connection service will also raise the temperature because it's making the phone work harder while it's searching for service. All of those factors coincide with each other and also one can buy a lemon in any product. But if you have a gut feeling that something is wrong with your device take it back and a qualified service representative take a look at it , because it's rather to be safe than sorry.

The SoC (system on a chip, i.e. the processor) is close to the right-hand side, about half way up the phone. So if it's going to warm up at all, that is where it will do it.

Do you know anyone else who owns one? It should be easy to compare whether yours is different.
