Help Samsung social hub false alerts

Ok so im using the social hub to get email/text/facebook alerts and i constantly get email alerts when i havent received any emails.
I get the alert tone and am told i have multiple new messages, when i go to check it my inbox is empty.

Has anyone else had this problem and is there any way to fix it? Alternatively are there any good email apps on the marketplace?

Thanks

I have the same issue here. I get these false alerts/notifications when I'm sleeping in the middle of the night. Wake up thinking it's something important only to find there is nothing. And I mean nothing. Not even the notification at the top of my status bar advising that a text, email ,or instant message came in. It simply plays the sound file.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus
ICS 4.0.1

I usually don't even have reception in my basement so I turn off my wifi and it's essentially the same as being unable to be contacted save for the odd random text that makes it through. I'm wondering if there was something held up in queue. Like it checked and knew there was a message but didn't have enough reception to complete the download of the message, only the fact that there WAS one, and thus the notification sound triggered, but the icon didn't display until the message was downloaded hours later when I got full reception again.
I'm thinking it's an order of operations and instead of waiting until the message is downloaded to display and audibly notify, it goes through the motions.
