Help Samsung Stratosphere 2 Problem

Crisspy

Lurker
My Samsung Stratosphere 2 is having problems. I was using it, then it restarted suddenly. No worries, I let it sit through the process but it happened over and over again. I turned my phone off, took out the battery for 3 minutes. That didn't work, so I updated all my apps but that also didn't work.
I force closed applications (20+ processes) as soon as I restarted my phone. I do not know why there are that many applications up as soon as my phone turns on.
Any help?? :(

We're these applications or services, and we're they running or just loaded? There are many processes which need to run on the phone, any widgets you have are apps, and apps which listen for updates (email, message, social media etc) also have to start when you boot the phone if they are to notify you when something happens. So it is normal to have a fair few apps start when the phone does. Do not be tempted to load a task killer/RAM manager/battery optimiser, because those things actively fight with the OS and make things worse. If you have anything like that, uninstall it.

The question is whether it's software or hardware? If you want to eliminate software then back up, do a factory reset then don't update or reinstall apps. If it still restarts then it's hardware. But that's fine if it restarts every few minutes whatever you do, but a pain if it only does it occasionally.

Knowing under what circumstances it restarts might provide a clue as to the cause (when used actively, when sleeping, when trying to do particular things).
