Help samsung stratspherei

I have a Samsung Stratsphere Andriod and on all my other phones I could save some of my text messages on my SD card. For some odd reason I can't do it on this phone and didn't know if anybody knew how to do it. Any help would be greatly appreciated

some samsung devices your not going to be able to do that, if you were rooted you can save the data of your messaging app, and restore it at any time
