Help Samsung Tab S 10.5 - Problem with WiFi sign-in screen

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 tablet (SM-T805), which is running Android 6.0.1 - I don't think they update for this model any longer!

Just been staying at a hotel and saw a problem I've encountered before where in order to get on the free WiFi entails you need to go through a sign-in screen. However, when I click on the "go to sign-in screen" I get an error saying that it can't load www.google.com (ERR-CERT-AUTHORITY-INVALID) and the text indicates that this could be due to the connection being intercepted by the sign-in screen.

This is using Chrome 103.0.5060.71.

Just wondering if anyone knows a way round this issue and/or is this because the version of Android and security bits and bobs are too old to cope.

Should have said in original post, as might be relevant, that I was able to get to the sign-in page using my phone (Galaxy S10)
