Samsung to release devices with flexible displays by November?

Hey Drex! :wavey: (good to see you again!).

Ask me why I'm anxious to see some flexible screens someday very soon (hint: it might have something to do with my daughter dropping her phone this morning and breaking the screen--she'll be getting her insurance replacement tomorrow after paying the $100 to Asurion :().

They can't arrive soon enough for me (and my wallet), LOL :p.

Thanks for that info!

Hey! Now that's someone I hadn't chatted with in a while. How you been? My heart dropped to the floor just reading about the dropped phone. My cousin-in-law is hoping my cousin doesn't drop her new s4. She is a BlackBerry convert.

I've been great, Drex, hope you have been, too! :)

LOL, this was just a Stratosphere...she wanted a phone with a keyboard :p ;).

She uses the crap out of her phones, so I guess it's actually a pretty tough device, but the screen is obviously the weak link if it gets dropped. So, even a little flexibility I bet would eliminate about 90% of the cracked screen incidents.

Scary to think that the tech has come this far in a short amount of years. I never thought there'd be a day that I actually feel like I can't keep up with the new tech released and it's getting to that point. New stuff coming out almost every month. Granted, it leaves for great conversations in here, like this thread, but this is definitely one of my favorite tech products that hasn't been released for production yet.

Of course, for us fanatics, the flexible screens for use are more about what can be done than worrying about the screen breaking (although, there's still a small part of us that look forward to that too).

Good to see you on here and glad things are good.

Pretty interesting information, now the question is: when it says flexible, it means that we actually can fold it? Or is just that this new technology will prevent the screen damages?

Regards

I think whatever devices they do release, will just be to prevent damage (or lessen the chances for major damage).

I hope to see flexible-folding devices by 2014, but I'm not holding my breathe, as those have been in development for 4-5 years already and still nothing close to production products being offered.
