Help Samsung update (March 2014) what is it?

About a month ago, I accepted a Samsung Update to my Galaxy S3 phone and it caused all kinds of problems until I did a factory reset (thus forcing me to reload all kinds of apps, settings, etc.)

I am now being prompted to update my Note 10.1 and don't want to proceed without knowing what the update will do for me, and any possible consequences.

Any ideas what this update is for?

US - wifi only Note 10.1 (the original)
Model GT-N8013
Currently running 4.1.2.

Sounds like a service update, we haven't had it in the UK. yet !....

I haven't got anything. Hearing that I won't update anything unless I'm done with school. If an update has the slightest chance of deleting my data off the tablet I won't do it. I didn't install Samsung Kais for this reason. Luckily it all went well.
