Apparently this twitter account contains a second teir tech...

I had a brief talk with him and he said Samsung will look into the Indulge's 4g and battery issues.

All I can say is "Yeah right".

Before Samsung figures out how to release an update I'm sure ACS will have already completed a full custom ROM...
 
In case anyone was still wondering, Samsung reads these forums.

@SamsungJohn informed me that he is developer and developer relations, not second teir. He also made sure to let me know that they do address issues brought up.

I'd love to say that Samsung proved my first post wrong... Let's see if they'll make me eat my own words...

Reported to Samsung 5/2/11 to @SamsungJohn: The Indulge needs a real fix for 4g toggle to help with battery consumption, not "any cut" which doesn't hold after a phone call event.

sorry not laughing at you.. but samsungjohn has been.. well less then helpful he started talking to us on the xda forums for the epic.. he promised a lot of stuff and then.. poof

Maybe he got a promotion... I heard Samsung's looking for customers....
 
Sent a tweet to samsung today... I'll send one every day until I get tired of it or they release an update... Which will come first?
 
it would be more effective to tweet a hash tag, get every samsung android phone owner to do it..


that i could see having an effect.. they will public announce a new date they wont meet

I just think they don't care.
It's sad really. I guess they (Samsung) have to choose where to put their resources and the Indulge ain't it. I don't understand why they don't see how the bad good will is going to translate into low sales in the future. I am loath to buy any other Samsung phone let alone washer or TV based on the lousy customer care exhibited by them. I hear HTC has a good customer care division.
Nothing has been done on this battery issue despite some loud grumbling by a lot of unhappy people. They are surely very aware of how people feel, don't you think? So they choose to do nothing or say anything. Or maybe the new extended battery and cover will be released tomorrow....we wouldn't know. They won't tell us.

Maybe there is a good reason they haven't released one. They haven't told us that either. None of us have tried ours for an extended time regularly yet. Have we? I have only run my extended battery through one discharge.
 
I have it on good authority that SamsungJohn is still alive, and that they are listening to feedback on this device and the Epic.

I'm very happy about that...

However, listening is as good as ignoring... I will continue my days count on twitter to let them know we have not forgotten... But I will hold my reservation of thinking Samsung Support is staffed by monkeys... at least for a short while longer...

its a recession.. monkeys got laid off last week, had to outsource it to zebras now

Tomorrow will mark day 4 since he said he would help... I really hope it doesn't end up in the hundreds and hundreds of days like Bush's "Mission Accomplished"...

ha ha that was funny buy seriously when are they going to come out with an toggle switch for the 4g option Id like to turn off the 4g at any moment like my wifi and turn it back on like my wifi if anyone can do this I WILL GLADY DONATE TO YOUR CAUSE:)
