Pretty sure this is a black friday / cyber monday deal, so I expect it to expire soon... I just ordered a 32 GB sandisk microsdhc chip for 56.99 with free shipping. was this a good deal? The cheapest I can find that same chip was around $90..

I figured it's a perfect upgrade for my inc considering I have about 500 megs free on my 16 GB.

Link:
SanDisk US Online Store

cost shows as 62.99
Add SDTHANKS10 to get an extra 10% off.

bringing the total cost to $56.59 shipped to the door.

Figured I'd toss this out to all my htc incredible friends!

You got a class 2 unfortunately, they are the slowest read/write memory cards.
You really want a class 4 or higher , especially if you ever do much 720p video shooting or else the video won't perform as well as it could....apps on your SD will run better on a faster card too.

Seems like that's all sandisk carries on their website. Am I missing something? I would figure that sandisk is pretty much the industry standard. What class 4 32GB microsdhc would you recommend?

SD ONLY sells Class 2, even for their smaller sizes. Class 2 must have a sustained read/write speed of 2MB/s (sustained, not peak). SD's cards usually greatly overachieve in those areas, falling in between a Class 4 and a Class 6 (not always, but typical).

3rd parties, on the other hand, often have a hard time reaching their advertised speeds, or they'll advertise peak speeds rather than sustained.

Lastly, you don't need Class 4 for a smartphone. First, the transfer and write speed of the Droid Incredible (or any smartphone out today) won't even max out a good Class 2 card. The 720p recording on the Incredible averages doesn't seem to have issues with my Class 2 card (easy way to test, record two similar videos using phone storage and SD, and see if there's a difference in framerate).

Do what you will, but for me, SanDisk's cards have always been the best combination of performance and reliability amongst flash cards, and that's why I don't mind paying a premium.

Thanks for the link, as I was looking to by 2x32GB MicroSDHCs this week, and was looking for a BF/CM deal. So far, $90 was the best that I had seen. However, they're listed as out of stock, so hopefully they let me order anyway.

I don't think they're honoring this deal anymore. I just had it refuse all 3 of my credit cards.

EDIT: Was an IP issue (I'm in Iraq). Had my wife order it stateside for me.

I think sandisk only makes class 2 (but thats just the minimum performance, many cards work faster than they're rated for). However, sandisk's reputation is not warranted...they have a higher failure rate than most other manufacturers.

If you dont record a lot of video, and it works out of the box, it's probably fine (and that price is great), or else you might want to return it. It's only a good deal if it does what you need it to do.

Got any links to back that up? I've always heard the opposite. Also, if you check reviews (yea, I know, the average consumer isn't the best resource), the SanDisk products seem to rate favorably, while the other bands seem to have higher failure rates (especially Classes 6, 8, and 10). going by the absurd failure rates, I don't think I'd ever touch a Class 10 card from any vendor.

That's an awesome deal! I bought mine from vzw for $108 after tax. Mine came with an attachment so I could plug it into a usb port. It works pretty fast. I've got 25 gb of free space. I did a recent back up of my SD card and it took or said it took 9 mins to copy everything over.

I hope sandisk SD cards aren't prone to failure. :-(

All my cards in my Droids have been class 2 Sandisc cards and I have never had a problem. I have a class 4 8GB from my old BlackBerry I use occasionally and it definitely transfers Data faster to and from the PC but other than that I notice no difference what so ever using it in the device.

Also the only cards I ever buy are Sandisc and I have never had one fail.

Thread moved to accessories.

Medion, I'm assuming, but thanks for your service!

Glad you got it ordered...

I am a little ticked, I just checked my email and the 32gb is on n=backorder. That's alright I guess, I still have about 500 meg free on my 16.

Very good, best deal on a 32gb card since the Verizon webpage error a few months ago got my 32gb Scandisk from Verizon for $37.50 shipped . But anything under $100 is a good deal on a 32gb card

mine is also on backorder. you guys should post here if you get any information on your order. i dont want to have to wait forever for it.

sandisk said that another email will be dispatched immediately upon shipping. But when I get mine, I'll post up.

This sale is officially toast... I checked the sandisk site today and it was malfunctioning, and now it says out of stock.

My order just came off back order and has shipped. So you guys on back order, keep a look out on your email for your shipping order,

Cats got Steven58's tongue apparently but I know he said his shipped last night as well. Guess I should have picked one up!!

$199, who are they trying to kid? Amazon has it for $90. Obviously, not as good as $56.69, but who knows when it'll get that low again.

That's an Amazon reseller, not actually Amazon. I'm not willing to take the chance that it's the real deal. It's no more reliable than Ebay.

Newegg has them for $115.

Ah, good call. Yeah, I wouldn't trust that either, for an item like this.

It's weird, Amazon has 2 listings for this item, both sold by Blue Proton. One of them says "ships from and sold by Blue Proton." The other says "sold by Blue Proton and fulfilled by Amazon."
