Save as draft... SMS

Text messages never seem to save as drafts... except sometimes. When it does, it's really arbitrary. From reading around, I thought maybe you had to have a recipient to save it as a draft, but one of the few ones I managed to save doesn't, and it marked 'anonymous'.

So, er... how does one save sms's that you're halfway through writing, but you need to send someone else one first?

If am halfway through writing a sms and I press the back button it saves as draft

Im assuming you press the home button instead?

yep, just press the back button to exit messaging and it will save it as a draft.

I use a draft SMS as a sort of to do list or shopping list.

I find that if I make changes to it, then press the back button, it says it has saved to drafts but it hasn't actually saved the changes. I have to go through the process twice, then it will save the changes.

Any ideas on this? Or does the Desire have a 'to do list' sort of application that can be easily accessed and modified?
