Help Save message to Sim/Gingerbread

I've heard Gingerbread is coming to the UK for the X10i and have read somewhere that the SE backup and restore doesn't work with Gingerbread. Is there a way to save messages/conversations to the SIM as I have a conversation I don't want to lose? Or does anyone know of a different way to keep the conversation?

Root it and install Titanium. I think you can do it using Titanium backup. Or install Handaccent as your messenger and back the convo up in there.

Doesn't Sony Ericsson's backup service allow message backups? And if you backup through Google you can't?
