Hi friends I am an android newbie and am having samsung galaxy 551 i5510 froyo 2.2 and using apps 2sd software to move most apps to sd card still the phone memory of 100 mb out of 170 MB is being used, any idea how to find out that where the 100 mb is being used? and to delete the logs, downloaded files etc, for eg if i install app from market where do the downloaded file gets stored in phone memory or sd card? because in windows after we install an app / software we usually delete the setup file as it will take space do the downloaded program file setup files get stored in phone memory give me more tips on how to keep more free space of phone memory.

you can get ... quick systems info
it will tell you all you need to know how you are using your mem.

android does not keep a "setup" file on your phone... it is deleted right after installation. if you installed an app you put in the SDcard.. you can delete that (but has no effect on internal mem)

start deleting apps you dont need or use often. if an app that is used once a month; load it when you need it.

paid apps will stay in market for you.. you have full access to it at all times (until it gets removed buy Dev or google)

suggestion only for a DEV to help you:
using the software i mentioned above.. you will see a lot of memory wasted. In areas that are not available to you or android to use. just sitting there.. around 150-200mb!!!! add them up.. and see.

Hero and EVO have a partition mod... that brings that back into the useable space for you. but a dev needs to test it out.. and modify it for your phone.
this mod is not for the average user!...
****DO NOT USE FOR YOUR PHONE...ONLY FOR EVO.. MUST BE MODIFIED FIRST FOR YOU PHONE******

Thanks using my phone explorer i can browse the phone system files, where i find many files having data / app and many other technical names, now how to decide which one is imp and which one is not ;(

if you get Titanium backup...
you can freeze apps you want to delete... then see if it affects your system or phone in a negative way.
