How do I save a emailed picture to my phone

Hi, welcome to Android Forums.
On my HTC One if I tap the picture it appears in a new screen with the 3 dot menu icon top right, tap that and it gives me an option to save, tap that and a copy goes into gallery - 'all downloads' album and 'all photos' album.
If that doesn't work for you please post again and include your device details.
