I am going to switch phone from desire to galaxy s2. During my time with my old phone, Ive got quite a collection of different password protected wifi connections. How can i transfer these to my new phone?

Thank you:). Yes, I noticed that thread but do not understand its meaning! Do I have this cloud? I do have google sync for calls, sms and mms! Is this the same?

Edit: Wait, my appoligies, what is your old phone? Is it Android? I just assumed when I posted -- sorry wasnt thinking.

Yep you should -- Have a look under the privacy settings

(from phone's home screen) press menu > settings > privacy

Also make sure you have "background data" enabled for at least your main gmail account

(from phone's home screen) press menu > settings > accounts and sync

I'd leave it like that for a day or two to be sure it syncs OK

Also, just in case though you might want to write the passwords down as a backup -- I think it should be fine but better safe than sorry, right?

Hmm you know what's odd -- it seems in Android 2.3.3 they hid the password, but this may work in 2.2

Try Menu > Settings > WiFi & Networks > WiFi settings > long press on each you want to write down > should be an option like "modify" or "edit" > then should be a text box with a "show password" checkbox below it.

I have Froyo on my desire, and did what you mentioned above, but no passwords do show up! I can mark the checkbox with show password, but...
