I tried to hotspot with another phone S5 and my S8PLUS doesn't pick up the S5 and on S5 it show a little lock icon next to my phone S8PLUS and it shows SAVED SECURED..what must I do or can I do to connect via hotspot

well if you are using your phone as a hotspot (that phone will act like a wireless router at home), you will need a plan for it. having a mobile internet is not free. i'm on sprint and this is their plan:https://m.sprint.com/mobile/landings/hotspot.html

I previously hotspot with my Samsung note 4 and always just used my data had no plan before as you mentioned above, I have enough data to share why will I need a plan because I tethering with my laptop using my S8 and doing have a problem connecting

well i guess for other carriers they might have added into their plans now. who is your carrier?

and are you saying you can tether your s8+ to your laptop? or not?

Yes using my S8 to my laptop..and I am using Cell C
