Help Saving Data to the sim card

Hi I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 2. Unfortunately the earpiece volume was DOA and my cell phone company has sent me a replacement. I need to take the sim card out of this phone and put it in the new phone. Someone told me there is a way to save all my contacts and setup information on the sim card. Is this true? Does anyone know how to do that? Thank you!

You can use the "import/export" item in the Contacts menu to import contacts, etc from the sd card. The SIM card can also import data on the same menu.

backup to google instead. then contacts sync to any, and all android devices, and your gmail account
