Help Saving pictures from text messages?

There are certain pictures in text messages that I can save and certain ones I can't. The ones that come in messages labeled as MMS I can't save. But the ones that come like they are part of a slideshow, even though there is only one picture, I can save to my gallery.

The MMS pictures only have an option for setting as contact photo or wallpaper, etc.

Is there any way to save pictures that come in MMS messages? And by the way what is the difference between MMS and SMS messages?

the one in SMS are only picture files.
the MMS.. has more than just pic.. sometimes text.. sound.. or video.
I can save them by:
from the message.. i long-press on the file.
a pop-up appears.
i select.. save attachment.

Thanks that did the trick. But these MMS pictures only had the pic in them.

For to get the pics on MMS (automatically) you'd install the free app 'SaveMMS' from Play Store

As far as I know, MMS needs the phone's mobile data, SMS doesn't, it's a connection like a phone call.
