Computer savvy, but not so much that you can tell.

Started with the IBM 360, Fortran and punch cards as undergrad. Then to mainframe terminals in grad school.

Next, Z80 - S100 with 8" x 2 floppy drives. Added a 10 MB external hard drive. Followed by a string of DIY PC's.

Many, many laptops starting with Toshiba's T1000. Lived on Compuserve in those days.

Several netbooks.

Tried two convertibles and both fell short.

In parallel with DIY PC's, purchased the first Palm. Several handhelds later arrived with iPod touch and Moto Droid. I like the open Android platform.

As a result I'm here with a recently (day before Thanksgiving) purchased Viewsonic G Tablet which requires a ROM mod for the Tegra2 to realize its potential. In a strange way this feels like the early PC days, jacking with HIMEM and TSR's.

Read a lot.

Of course I also have a day job. The same one for the past thirty years.

Love hiking, flying and my wife. Lately added genealogy as an interest.

That's about it.

Is this what you wanted to know?
