Root [SBF]Droid 2 SBF Files and Instructions Thread

I used the list for the DX and some common sense and haven't had any problems. Be aware that if you freeze/remove backup assistant, a factory reset will make your phone bootloop, and you'll need to SBF.

Model: Droid 2
Android Version: 2.2
System version 2.3.20.A955.verizon.en.US

I dont have the actually sbf, if someone knows the link i can download it at. I am just trying to get my phone to exactly the way it was when i got it. So scared i am going to brick it. If anyone can help, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks

I'm actually working on a step-by-step tutorial on this with screenshots (up to the point where, you know, your phone is actually flashing the sbf). I should have it done by Wednesday night--until then though, I'm sure another user can direct you to an existing tutorial. Personally, I looked at this thread when I was learning how to flash an .sbf. This method DOES require Windows though, so just be aware of that.

thank you so much. is this a process that a novice user can do? i am good at following directions. i also have a phone that has been rooted and unrooted several times. does this have any affect on the outcome. im very scared to brick this thing.

thanks again

SBFing isn't a hard task for anyone. I recommend being at a unrooted stock ROM when SBFing, but it isn't required.

My guess is he either ran it as an administrator (required in Vista) or hadn't downloaded the latest version of RSDLite (4.9), which is necessary for a D2G.

hi i been searching for the last 2 hours to see if i could find some steps on unbricking my droid 2 using windows but all i found was using linux. could someone send me to the right direction please

Hey so I am new to this to roming thing. I have a droid 2 and am Currently Running fission 2.4.3 I want to go back to the stock rom but didn't back it up. to make sure that am going to do this right I want to let you guys know the steps I have taken so far and then want to make sure i will be doing it right, I really hope i don't brick my phone. I downloaded and installed RSD Lite and also downloaded and installed motorola mobile drivers 4.7.1 motoconect 1.1.3.1. After downloading the full sbf for the droid 2 I hook my phone open rsd lite click the file name then click start. After that it should process reboot and I should be set back to stock correct Thanks in advance

Again, thank you for posting the link. Makes me feel more secure knowing I can't get stuck permanently if something goes awry.

Deeply in need of some assistance here. Droid 2 (not G), yesterday I installed Gingerbread and activated the phone successfully after installation. Everything worked great except I couldn't make a phone call. I have Launcher Pro installed, I uninstalled it so I can use the stock app interface to see if the phone responded better then the shit hit the fan. When I restart my phone all I get is a white screen, nothing works. I've tried to reboot using the power + X command - the ! appears but the phone doesn't respond when I press the search button, camera or volume up/down on my keypad. I've tried several methods, several times but all I get is the ! screen. Help please! *Small update: Seems you have to press both volume buttons simultaneously when the ! screen appears. I first tried the "wipe cache partition" option and restarted - no change. I just did the factory reset, restarting phone now *crosses fingers*

Im having sort of the same problem and was wondering if you could help. I cant get RSD lite to recognize my phone and I dont know how to get sbf file to rsd lite. I can access my bootloader screen on my droid 2 and it shows under transfer mode that USB is connected.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
