Scanner App

[crazy8]

I am a trained Skywarn spotter and was looking for a scanner. I am aware and have installed Scanner Radio but is there one that I can put in a specific repeater? This would be VERY helpful as our team does use specific repeaters and even though I wont be getting my ham license until the end of the year it would be very helpful to at least hear what the team is saying, doing, seeing, etc.

Thank you very much for the help.

In order for that to work, someone must provide a feed from the specific repeater you are wanting to listen to. Do you know if that is the case?

BTW, I am a ham. Welcome to the hobby. You can always buy a ham radio before you have your license and just listen on it.

Well I don't know about the feed for sure. I know the repeater is located in Crown Minnesota. I didn't even know that city existed until now and only because they call it the "crown repeater". Anyway out Skywarn group uses it I guess and I thought "hey if they are all talking on that repeater than maybe I can get something to listen in." They also use another one in Elk River MN as a backup.

Perhaps I will get my radio before I get my license. That would get me some hands on and allow me to "play" with it a little, in addition to being able to listen in.
