Screen Automatically Turns On & Off

Hi there,

My one week old S3's screen automatically comes on and then turns off. It is quite random and I can't put my finger on why this is happening.

Any suggestions?

I'm not sure if that's causing the issue.

For me it's one of two things (I believe):
  • WiFi Open Networks being found and making my screen turn on
  • Apps sending notifications (such as adverts, etc.)
Any thoughts on the above guys?...

For ads: Lookout's and TrustGo's ad detectors are nice; I uninstall anything "pushy" or "leaky".

Otherwise, some more info would help, i.e. what is your timeout, face stay thing setting, what is on the screen when it happens/before it happens...

Thanks for the info on the detector apps, will check them out.

I uninstalled Music Download Paradise Lite and Barcode Scanner yesterday, along with turning off Network notification. Smart Face Stay setting is off, as is all motion options. Since then, it hasn't turned on.

I do have a secure email app (Good Technology) for my work installed on my phone, that might be sending calendar notifications (it can't be for emails as my mobile data is always off)

i noticed that when reaching full 100% charge that my handset turns the screen on for a few seconds before going back off.

Mine does this also when it gives a notification that the battery is charged and to remove it from the charger.
 
can anyone tell me what i can do ??
my s3 screen turns on and then off repeatedly without any touch
it happens atleast once or twice a day daily..
why i mean what should b the reason ??
i m very new to android phone .. can anyone help me please
