Help Screen blacks out during video

Hi there if any of you nice, wonderful people could help me with my question I'd sure appreciate it a ton. When watching videos on YouTube on my home wifi and perfect signal the screen goes black and seems to "lock" because I can't turn it back on for 2-3 seconds but after that I can. It never used to do this before but its making me go nuts. Also that little blue thing that we use to select a place in a sentence we are typing is going completely psychotic on me seriously its almost impossible to type this because it keeps jumping all over the place and won't let me select the spaces between words it only highlights words and pops up a box with "select word", "select all" and the other things. Plus when I do move the blue thing its always far right of its actually selecting. In simple explanation: 12345

Are you using a custom ROM? Your screen shouldn't turn off and your "blue thing" shouldn't jump around. I use the stock ROM and am not rooted. I have my screen timeout set to 15 seconds, but when I'm watching YouTube videos, the screen stays on for the entire video. Also I have no problem using the blue text selector. Where are you using it? In the email or messaging app? Or on a web page? Sometimes typing text onto a web page can be tricky. But otherwise not. Maybe you need to re-boot. Have you tried turning off the phone, waiting for the lights at the bottom to turn off, then turning it back on?

I've tried everything to fix it like rebooting and factory reset but it still gets off track a lot. Also the weirdest thing....my Battery is showing its going to die soon but I check battery usage and it shows I've got 8 hours left. What's that about?

Also I forgot to mention that i'm using a non rooted phone that's been babied with hardly any apps or widgets. When i'm watching videos on YouTube it just cuts off to black like the Battery died or something. It turns back on in 2-3 seconds after I hit the power button. Its not like its doing it routinely, it just does it every now and then. Very annoying though lol..
