Apps Screen breaking animation

I have seen a few apps in the android market of apps that have a screen breaking effect.
Is there anyone can help me with how to create such an animation in code?..working on a game and I need the animation for one of the action events
 
You could always just import a flash animation. OK, a lot of disk space used but it may make or break (pun intended) your application!
 
By the way, you'll need to convert it into either of the following formats before it will be playable on your device:-

MP4,DivX,XviD,WMV
