Screen brightness widget

Is there a widget that show the brightness level (%) of the screen? I am looking for something similar to all the battery widgets that show the amount of battery left.

I have tried a couple of the widgets available in the play store, but they only show the setting that they are set at. I am looking for information on the current brightness settings. In other words, if the phone is set to automatically adjust the brightness, I would like to see what the current setting is. For example: outdoors it might show 100%, then indoors it will show 68%, then at night 23% and possibly 2% in the middle of the night.

In case you are wondering, I am just curious on the different brightness levels used.

Thx

Thank you PitCarver, but not at all what Im asking or looking for. I simply want to know the level of brightness that my screen is currently at. Since my settings are set for dynamic brightness, I figured that there would be a widget of sorts hidden somewhere that would report the brightness that the screen is currently set at.

If the widget has additional functionality (i.e changing the brightness ) it is an added bonus, but for my purpose at this moment I am simply looking to know how bright the kit kat automated feature sets the screen under different circumstances.

For example, right now, its dark, so when I step outside, the screen might only be at 17%, then when I come back inside, and the TV reflection hits it, it might go to 22%, then at dinner with the lights on, it might go to 31%, then in the middle of the night it might be 1%. I apologize if I am being repetitive in my example.

I want to see if this automatic set up actually changes the brightness, (hence the widget) and ultimately I want to see if this automatic brightness setting saves battery.

Again thank you PitCarver. Any other ideas?

Tasker can control brightness. It cannot sense the brightness level set by other apps. But if you give total control of your brightness over to Tasker (put your in-built brightness in manual and only let Tasker change brightness), Tasker will know exactly what the brightness is (wherever Tasker last set it). And you can certainly program a Tasker or zoom widget to display brightness... tap the widget to bring up automatic or manual brightness controls all programmed however you want in Tasker (Tasker can sense the ambient brightness from your phone sensors... which you can use to build your own "automatic" brightness control)

I've done it before. Had a pretty darned good widget which brought up a slider and buttons. That was my last phone...don't have the details at my fingertips.

Unless you already know Tasker or are keen to spend awhile learning it..this is probably not a good option.

Tasker will probably add another layer, which is not what I'm looking for. I have googled this 99 different ways, to no avail. Its somewhat interesting that a widget like this does not exists

Thank you for your input Electricpete

After your initial question, I spent considerable time looking, also. Widgets for darn near every other function except for brightness level. You would think that there would be something that showed the current level...
