So, I was working on a large machine and dropped my phone into about 2 inches of oil and it saturated in the oil for about half an hour while I tried to fish past a motor to reach it. I ended up cracking the screen upon retrieval and damaged the display in doing so, so I had to take apart the phone, clean the oil off of the undamaged components using 70/30 rubbing alcohol compound (I used a no-heat hair dryer to remove the remaining water), I fixed my speakers by cleaning the fabric and resealing it to the speakers, I also fixed my proximity sensor. I have a few spare components from a separate l90 and have used just a couple (none of my internals were damaged on this phone and I have been thorough in verifying circuit continuity. The display itself is simply malfunctioning and will not reduce brightness below 100% . I have found solutions to keep the phone from auto-reducing screen brightness due to heat, but have not been able to reduce the actual screen brightness regardless of what the phone wants. I would also like to note that the screen has an intermittent flicker from time to time. I had the same issue with a separate new display and did not have the issue with the OEM display. So far I have just verified that it has an issue, I have verified that it has nothing to do with the screen I am currently using (by purchasing a new screen and attempting to adjust with that; same issue persists). I would like an experienced repair specialists opinion on software issues that can cause this and ways to apply software for repair as I have eliminated hardware issues to include the plug for the display. Also note, I apply very firm pressure when reconnecting the circuit board plugs, none of the connections or components are loose at all
