Screen dim vs screen lock?

I love my Droid so far but the one feature I miss from my Storm is that you can have separate time limits for screen dim and screen lock. I usually keep a short screen dim time to increase battery life but when i'm texting someone its annoying to always have to unlock the phone just because the screen has dimmed. Is there any way around this or are there any apps that address this?

I use eRay, which let's you select the backlighting level. I know it's not the same as what you were asking for, but it does help considerably.

Therre is a few seconds bufer before the screen actually locks. As soon as the screen turns off, just touch the (camera) shutter button and it'll wake right back up. I have not tested to see how long the buffer is, but I think it may be around 3-5 secs.

I'd like the ability to set the screen dim timeout to 20-30 seconds and then set the lockout time to 5 mins or something like that.
