Help Screen dimming during video playback?

When playing video from the gallery I notice that the screen brightness drops a decent amount. Is there a setting to tweak or prevent this??
 
While a video is playing, press the Menu button, then Settings, Brightness, and set it however you want.
 
It would be nice if there was a universal brightness check box somewhere, huh. I guess Samsung's way is for those people who find dimmed web pages easier on the eyes and can watch a video at full brightness without changing settings every time.

Yea it's pretty annoying. Maybe they'll change it in an update. The GSII Epic started with the same tricky brightness controls, then switched to the simple universal brightness setting we're used to.

Maybe they'll rrlearn their lesson with the GSIII :)
