Help Screen dims randomly

When using my tablet the brightness goes from 100 to 69 or 82. It is INFURIATING. Anybody know how to fix this?

Auto brightness is not on. Should have mentioned that in the op. I'm not that stupid.

Do you have any battery power manager? They have the tendency to adjust your brightness without your concern. Remove it if you have one.

Nope. Just the apps that came with the tablet and a few games.

That's weird. What is your device and its android version? And while you're at it can your check if your power saving option is on.

Since it's an LG I'm going to guess that it's the thermal management. When the internal temperature rises to a certain level it will reduce the brightness and may also throttle the GPU and CPU.
My Optimus F3 used to do this and eventually I found out how to disable it. Required messing around with system files and the device had to be rooted.
Check the device forums here and see if there is a section for your specific device, if so try posting in there for help.

Well thats annoying. Oh well. Guess I'll go buy an iPad.
