Screen doesn't respond

Recently my tablet doesn't respond to the first two or three taps on the screen. At first, I thought it was peculiar to my Kindle app, but it happens regardless of the app that I am using. It happens in the Chrome, Gmail, Settings apps, too.

I don't know if my screen sensitivity has deteriorated, or if this is a software issue. This is very frustrating and seems to be getting worse. Does anyone else have this problem?

No issues on my tab a. Have you tried rebooting the device? If it gets worse you may want to do a factory reset.
