screen flaw?

hi there, i am totally new to touch screen phones.. having just recieved a htc desire c two weeks ago, so please excuse my naivety

im not sure if i should be sending the phone back, as i have a kind of blueish pressure mark on the screen, roughly where my thumb touchs it most.
(i have been very light on the touch so i im sure i havent done anything.)

is there a technical term for this.. its hard for me to tell if it has got worse.
it isnt noticeable on everything, but can see it most clearly when on white dolphin browser home page..
is this likely to get worse with time.. should i contact my provider and get it changed?

hope not its taken me ages to set it up so far

many thanks in advance

Well it most certainly seems a factory defect IMO. The Desire C uses a capacitive screen which basically means it does not respond to pressure, and the glass isn't bendable for it to put pressure on the pixels below (unlike resistive screens). If I press on the screen of a capacitive phone, you shouldn't even get pressure ripples.
