Help Screen flickers translucent blue

Occasionally my screen will begin to flicker blue, during this, there is faint horizontal lines present, and I am able to see what is underneath the blue but not clearly. The speed of flickering, if or not the flickering occurs with the blue, how often it occurs, and the frequency of horizontal lines all appear to be random. One thing that is always the same is that the blue covers about 90-95% of the screen, leaving a small area at the top that looks proper. I have done some research by googling the issue, and it seems this is a known problem, even in the new HD models. Some say its related to temperature, some are saying it is a glitch occuring with the automatic brightness feature. I have turned off automatic brightness adjust and set my own value (about 20%), time will tell if doing that will solve the problem... Of the 2 days I have owned the phone, yesterday I spent the day indoors and encountered the issue maybe 3 times for very short durations, while today I was outside frequently in approximately 0 celcius and the problem was happening much more often. When I got home, the issue has not occured. It might just be in my head, but this seems to support the theory that the issue is related to temperature. Anyhow, I would like to hear what you guys have to say about this... Have any of you encountered it? What is your opinions of the likeliness of the cause here? This phone was purchased on E-bay and the previous owner lived in the USA, I live in Canada. He shipped the phone with only the charger to go with it, no paperwork, so I am not sure if there any warranty options available to me, however he claimed that he owned the phone for approximately a month before selling it.

Well it is still doing it... turning the automatic brightness adjuster off didn't do the trick. I called Motorola and they basically said they wouldn't help me because I am in Canada. I notice that the error is occurring mostly when my phone has been sitting for a while, and it starts almost immediately after I turn the screen on and start using it. When I have been sitting and using it for a while, the problem goes away, but as soon as I let it sit for a while again, it comes back. I am wondering if this is something that could be caused by an app or a setting?

If I do a factory reset will the phone still be unlocked? The phone is Verizon, but I am using it on Bell.

I have been having the exact same problem with my razr as well. I downloaded an ap so that I could download music one night. I was downloading music, and I noticed that some songs weren't downloading at all. I thought maybe the internet was just going slow for some reason so I plugged it into the wall and went to bed. When I got up the next morning, my phone was flashing that transparent blue screen. I thought it had something to do with the app or the music I downloaded, so I deleted everything, but that didn't help.

Like the OP said, it is a translucent blue screen that flashes, and seems to get better the more you use your phone, but always comes back when it has been sitting for awhile. The blue only takes up about 1/3 of my screen, and all the buttons/icons work just fine even while it is flashing. It just obstructs the view of the screen.

This has been going on for a couple of weeks now, and lately it seems to be getting worse. The blue screen was transparent and I could still somewhat see the screen through it, but now it is more often than not a dark blue that completely blocks my view of anything (although I can still access apps and things, I just have to remember where the buttons are since I can't see them). It also is taking longer and longer for the blue to go away when I am using the phone.

I would like to know if anyone has had and fixed this problem before. I am thinking about doing a factory reset, but I have no clue if that will work or not.

The only way to know if factory reset will cure it is to try it as long as you have backups of anything that may not be re-installed.
If it doesn't cure it then I suspect your screen is broke. somehow as can get these things on computers screens and normally means screen is faulty.
