Help Screen goes BLANK during call in progress..HELP!!

My screen goes blank while a call is in progress. I can't end the call even the home, back and menu answell as the power button does nothing to make the screen come back on!

The only way to get it working again is to take the battery out!

Please help, this is very annoying.

Do a little test please. Lay the phone flat on the table and make a call. The screen is designed to go off when on a call if the proximity sensor is sensing something really close (like the side of your head)...

...so if the screen goes off whilst flat on the table, it probably means the proximity sensor is covered... usually by a case or screen protector

Do have something covering your light sensor that will confuse the sensor?

I have a screen protector, but this has been on since i've had the phone and I've never had any issues.

I tried making a call while the phone was left flat on a table and and as soon as i hit the call button, the screen goes blank. had to take the batt out again to get the screen to come on again

Thanks guys, but need some more suggestions please:)

I hate to say that, but you simply might have faulty unit with sensor problem.
I know you won't like to part with your baby just yet, but I suggest you take it to Samsung for check.

The Test indicates a problem with the sensor.

There are 2 things you need to do to find out if its faulty.

1) remove screen protector. If still goes blank, sensor not restricted

2) factory reset. If still goes blank, software not the cause.

Which order you try those in is up to you

Id do exactly that. Depending on price of protector/amount of hasstle setting up apps which u try 1st.
