Root Screen going black, having to reboot

not sure if it powers off, or just won't respond. it seems to do this randomly. I'll go to check if I have any messages, or to just fart around on my phone, and realize it won't come on. anyone else experiencing this?

latest CT Mod, with Kouma

I've actually just started experiencing a bit of this myself. Been contemplating just going back to rooted stock because that seems to work just fine. I have no idea why it's beginning to do this. Has nothing to do with apps installed, been running the same apps for quite a long time now.

This happens when the phone runs out of ram. Something that you have installed is taking up all of your resources.

Certain launchers do this for me (sbp shell 3d for example)

Or a combination of applications that constantly run in the background. Check your running services tab to see if you have a lot of things ruining in the background.

It if you can replicate this consistently, run a log cat and see if it offers any clues.

What rom are running?
Launcher?
Applications that receive notifications?

I know, for example, miui is particularly ram intensive. It can lag terribly when you receive/end a phone call.

i kinda had that too but now i run at 140 free on ram all the time. i have seen 120 free once or twice but always at anytime 140+ free at all times and great. might just be your problem. i'm on ct mod too.

What did you do to free your ram? I'm using NQ Android booster. I've been keeping an eye on my phone since I started this thread, and I haven't noticed anything eating up my ram, but still had the problem once or twice since.

I'm going to keep looking into it, though. It's nice to know at least a few other people have experienced this. I thought i might have bought a defective phone.

I use auto starts and told just about everything to not start on boot and 1 more thing I can't remember at the moment. Also anything system has to run, so don't stop any of that stuff. Then I use Fast Reboot pro. It has an option that everytime you make the phone come alive it's like a mini quick reboot that takes a second or 2 and it clears all the RAM. Works great for me.

Just noticed it happened after I got and sent a few texts.

Cwhatever,

Thanks, I'll look into auto starts.
texts and texts pics get saved to internal mem, i use sms backup to save to sd and can restore them too if need a pic or something from one. so if you keep tons of messaging stuff i would look into that too.
