Help Screen lights up and stays on after fully charged

I normally charge my phone at night, and when the battery reaches a full charge the screen will light up, and stay on until I push the power button. Any ideas how to fix this problem?

Strange indeed. Have you installed any software that might be effecting your device. Tried rebooting?

Given that my Note does this as well, I'm thinking that this is a "feature", as more so than a "problem".

This is not a good "feature" on amoled screened phones because whatever image is on your screen will get burned in (faded technically).

I didn't say it was good...I hate having to keep turning off the screen in the middle of the night.

Do you have a task killer too?

If you both have task killers, it could be that it's killing whatever service is supposed to switch the screen off automatically.

My advice: DON'T use task killers.

The phone already has a Task Killer. Long press the Home button and look at the bottom tabs and press on Task Killer.

When is fully charge dont leave it overnight my phones when is charged it gives me a warning to unplugged. Maybe its getting way to much energy in and needs to realease it..but im no expert.

Maybe theres an app that is keeping your device awake. So maybe when this happens go to battery and check whats been awake besides display.

Has one yeah but you don't have to use it :p

I had the same problem.
I read somewhere else (see link below) that a similar issue came from the "extended control" app.

Solution (worked for me):

1) add a new widget (extended control).
In the widget definition, add a new toggle:
Stay awake
(Keep the screen awake while charging)

You will notice that the widget, once on your home screen, is active.
Just click on it to disable it.

Hope it works for you as well

Once my phone is charged it Wakes up and the screen comes on and off. I have had my phone for about 9 months and it just started doing this about a month ago. Thinking it may be due to a resent update to my phone.

This is a very old thread. But, since you resurrected it I thought I would point out that every Android device I have owned once it's fully charged the screen will come on. But then it shuts off shortly after.

Sorry for jumping in so late to this conversation, but since I have been having the same issue and found the solution on another page, I thought I might add what worked for me. No additional apps or widgets were required to fix. Under your settings, there is a Developer options area and within that a Stay awake setting which apparently defaults to yes (or I had updated to yes without thinking clearly). If you change that setting to No, that should fix the issue.
