Help Screen Lock Bypass Pro similar app available for Android version 4.4.2. devices?

e_odelbor

Lurker
I was locked out of my Samsung Galaxy Young 2 smartphone last weekend (can't remember the password for the lockscreen I set) and it doesn't give me the option to resort to either the PIN or Google account identifiers to regain access and unlock the screen, the only think I can do is emergency dial.

I've seen through tutorials that one way to solve the problem is resorting to Screen Lock Bypass Pro. I felt an inmense sense of relief upon learning that because I thought that I'd be finally able to regain access to my smartphone ( the rest of solutions that I've attempted to do so as not to have to reset the device and therefore avoid losing all the data stored on the internal memory have failed so far) but the problem is that the android version of my smartphone is 4.4.2. and Screen Lock Bypass Pro isn't available for devices running android versions 4.1 and above

So I'd like to know if anyone could advice me on any similar app that would be compatible with my android version.

I really really need to regain access to my smartphone as soon as possible.

Thanks in advance!

Here are the technical specifications of my device, if it helps:

I don't think there is a way.
Look at it this way....if there was a way, then what good would a lockscreen password be?

On top of that, even if that app would work for your device, how would you install it, much less use it and set it up as you cannot get into the device? Edit: ah, I see the app now...interesting how that would work...hmmm.
I think you are going to have to boot into recovery and factory reset it. :(

Indeed though, it has dawned on me that there wouldn't be a "lawful" way to solve the problem other than formatting it.
Yet I've come across quite a few "alternative procedures" tutorials (both texts and videos on Youtube) such as resorting to ScreenLock Bypass Pro (even though that one wouldn't be available for my android version), Android Debug Bridge, or flashing a custom recovery ~TWRP, not sure how to do that though, I lack the necessary technical background to do that.

I mean as long as I can prove that I'm the owner of the device (via PIN, PUK or Google account info) it should be fine.

How can I boot it into recovery? Do you know the step by step procedure?

I really want to retrieve my data, it's somewhat crucial for me, it it wasn't I wouldn't perseverate so much.

Thanks for your feedback btw!

The only thing you can do in recovery is to hard reset and well, yeah you'll lose your data--which is what you don't want to do.
fwiw, here is how to enter recovery:
http://www.recovery-mode.com/android/samsung-galaxy-young-2.html
Recovery Mode

  1. Turn off the device
  2. Press and hold Volume UP key + Home Key
  3. then Press and hold Power key
  4. Release all key when you see Samsung logo, then you will see Android System Recovery
  5. Use Volume UP key and Volume Down key to select Menu
  6. Use Power key to Confirm or Execute Menu

Download Mode or ODIN Mode

  1. Turn off the device
  2. Press and hold Volume Down key + Home key
  3. then Press and hold Power key
  4. Release all key when you see ODIN Mode
  5. Use Volume Up key to continue
  6. Use Volume Down key to cancel ( Restart the device )
Hard reset Samsung Galaxy Young 2

  1. In Recovery Mode select wipe data / factory reset
  2. press Power key to confirm
  3. select Yes, press power key to confirm
  4. select Reboot system now to finish hard reset
I know that doesn't answer your question, sorry, but even if there was a way to bypass the PIN, or password lockscreen, I'm not so sure we would want to provide support for that here...nothing personal at all;)

I am inclined to believe that you are indeed the owner of the device, but as far as retrieving your data from a screen locked device---I do not know:(

Oh so what you're implying is that there would /might be a way to retrieve my info but since I can't prove being the owner of the device it'd feel wrong supplying that info on an open forum.

I see :/ I mean totally makes sense, o_O. I'll go to a shop-based technical assistance service then where I can prove via the purchase ticket / ID card that I am indeed the owner.

I was surching forms a while back and stumbled on a way with command prompt. I cant remember the exact command but it should work. However im not sure if the android verson matters. Try googleing unlock android with command propt. Good luck

Thanks for your input, I tried every solution possible but they either required having set certains options previously ( and since the smartphone was locked and I had no access to the settings ) or were not available due to incompatibilities with my android version.

I did a hard reset on the smartphone last saturday though, six days after the incident happened. I couldn't use my SIM card on any other phone and I couldn't keep being "unreachable" any longer.

So this thread shall be closed.
